Whew…we were lucky to have gotten most of our parties in this blizzardy Christmas. We celebrated with Micah’s family the weekend of the 18th, so it was the “Krull” side this past weekend. The boys got a Micah Weber built shed…with some Bomgaar specials to go with it. They are having a great time with a new tractor and wagon, a DVD, animals, semi-truck, fences, etc. Micah outdid himself and made an elaborate shed that had a flip top and sliding doors. I was not expecting it! I thought the cardboard boxes were working just fine.

Micah, the boys, and I were crazy and took on the storm Christmas day. We didn’t want Mom to be alone after she got off work on Christmas, so we used the Chevy truck’s 4-wheel drive to buck the snowdrifts to get to George. It was scary! Kahle told my mom that I cried in the truck (I didn’t….but I was flippin’ out!). My brothers, Reid and Ryan, and DeeAnna and Jack came to Mom’s the next day to eat and open gifts. My sis, Rachel, and her family didn’t make it because of bad weather. This was our first Christmas apart. I didn’t like it! They were saints and mailed their presents. We weren’t surprised when Bodee opened a noise-making gift from Noah. It was a fancy snare drum. Oh boy, does Bodee love his new toy! Micah and I are debating.
My mom’s side decided to cancel our dinner. Hopefully we can all get together soon! We celebrated with my dad’s side on Sunday. It was a busy weekend! Today was spent getting lots of cleaning and odds/ends done, so we are looking forward to a relaxing week.

We had our Christmas festivities with Micah’s family this past weekend. It was good to have everyone together…except Wade. (He had to stay back in KS to work. However, he got a job in NW IA, so he and the rest of the clan will be moving up our way.) We celebrated with lots of food, gifts, and time to catch up on our busy lives. Even though it was a short weekend, we were blessed to all be together. I have school Mon., Tues., and Wed. this week. Micah is going to help his new principal move into her new house on Wednesday, as they don’t have school. I also need to get presents wrapped soon. I have VB tonight, a get together with the neighbors tomorrow night, caroling with our youth group Wed. night, and maybe opening presents for the boys Thursday night?? Kahle really wants a barn, but we haven’t seen a big one in any of the stores. Micah might try and build one!
We are simply excited to celebrate the birth of Jesus! In case I get lax and not update the site…Merry Christmas, everyone!
The boys and I are all back and kicking again. It didn’t take long for the bug pass, so that’s nice! We heard many people in the area had something similar. Hopefully that means we are good to go for Christmas. Kahle was back to form-tackling Bodee last night, so we knew they were just fine. They are definitely brothers (or just boys)—they are buddies one minute and beating up on each other the next. Well, I don’t know too much else. We are counting down the days until Christmas. I still have a lot of shopping to do!
On Friday we packed up the car, picked up my mom in Boyden, then headed to Fonda for a relative’s wedding. This was the 3rd wedding in three weeks! Anyway, I’ll skip to the “good” part. Our dear Bodee got sick when we were at the reception. He puked all over Micah. We left soon after…even before the wedding party was there! Micah made the mistake of saying that he was just thankful that it wasn’t in the car–all over everything. Not long after that…..what do you think happens? Kahle puked all over himself in his car seat. Bodee did, too! I was squished in the middle of the two in our backseat….trying to catch vomit. I about lost it! It was a long ride home. Needless to say, I had a few loads of laundry to do when I got home. It was a rough night, but both boys were just fine on Sunday.
This weekend was a busy one with Julie and Dusty getting married on Saturday. We started the day bright and early with our hair appointments at 8:00! It was off to the church after that. Julie looked fabulous in her champagne colored dress. We had an afternoon full of pictures, then a gorgeous ceremony at 4:00. I’m thankful that none of us fainted. Micah did a great job of singing. I wish I had that talent. He often lets me know when I’m flat/sharp as I sing in the car, shower, etc. I guess that’s why the neighbor’s dogs howl so loudly.
The reception and dance were fun. The candy table was a hit! Micah and I headed back to RV around midnight. He graciously helped me get the 42 bobby pins out of my hair. Dean and Bea watched the boys at our house. It was a very weird feeling not having the boys with us. Micah and I commented several times that we felt like we should have been chasing them around at the dance, fetching them from the candy table, taking Kahle potty…. We actually got to socialize. So, thank you Dean and Bea for taking good care of the boys!
It’s now time to start Christmas shopping. I haven’t started! We have another wedding this weekend, so we’ll see if I can make a quick trip to SF after school one of these days. Hopefully we have nice weather for awhile yet.
I can’t believe it’s December….and snowing already!! I’m not ready. Kahle was SO excited to see the white flakes this morning. It made getting out of bed much easier! We are assuming Bodee will love the snow as well. He’ll probably taste it–like he does everything else.
We attended my cousin Jeremy’s wedding last weekend. The boys had fun on the dance floor. The DJ made balloon animals and hats for the kiddos, so that was entertaining. Micah and I are preparing for Julie’s wedding this Saturday. We are so excited for her and Dusty. We hope it’s not too cold. The boys will get to stay with G’pa & G’ma Weber—so everyone will be happy. Other than that, not much is new. We had a great Thanksgiving with family. Rachel and I got to do some baby girl shopping. Everyone who’s reading this—get that Baby Girl Nielsen lots of pink stuff…..Rachel is being stubborn!
Of course, Rachel managed to find some Nike socks.
