Bodee had his one year wellness check on Friday.  He is in the 95th percentile for height and weight.  He’s 26.4 lbs. and 32 inches.  We thought he’d be heavier.  He took his shots like a champ, again.  He cried only for a little bit.  Micah and I joked as we were walking into the exam room.  It dawned on us that Bodee would be getting shots.  He ended up getting five!  With Kahle, we made sure to give him Tylenol before the appt. and have a bottle/sippy cup ready to comfort him after he was poked.  Well, I guess we figured that Bodee is a tough little man, because we didn’t do any of that.  It’s now Saturday morning and the Bodster is happy and playing.  What if we had another child….would we get eve n more lax?  Yikes.   :)

Have a safe and Happy Halloween, everyone.  We might attempt to put on the Farmer and Cow costumes one more time and head out to a couple of places.  I guess we’ll see if it’s rainy (or snowing like it did at WL yesterday).

We always wondered who Bodee looked like, and now we think we know.  My mom brought over a few pictures of Dad when he was a baby.  We had a good laugh.  There is quite the resemblance.  Here is one pose for you to compare.

Our baby is one!

Bodee devoured his b-day cake. Blue frostering was stuck in his nose!

We had a great time celebrating with family on Saturday night.  Thank you for the wonderful presents, everyone!  So far, Kahle has claimed every one of them.  We ordered Pizza Ranch pizza, then had a very bubbly bath afterwards.  My sister has given me much grief about not putting bubbles in the boys’ bath.  This is because Kahle has tubes…and we have to be so careful about not getting soapy/dirty water in his ears.  We thought we’d celebrate Bodee’s last bath before HE also got tubes.  And to fill everyone in, the Bodster and I got back from the hospital not too long ago.  The surgery went well, so we are looking forward to having good ears again!  I get to spend the rest of the day with the boys!!

Last night my mom, G’ma Janice, came to help me get ready for the football coaches’ party.  She is such a blessing to us!  The boys are lucky to have such a fun, quirky, and helpful grandma.  I think we both slept better knowing things are lined up and ready to go.  It was  a late night and early morning.  :)   Now, if only I could guarantee the boys or I won’t mess something up.

Quick side note, Kahle was kind of confused last night when I kept calling G’m Janice, “Mom.”  He would put on his confused expression and say, “That’s your mom?”  It was funny.  I guess I need to say G’ma, too.  Anyway, we thank you so much for your help, Mom/G’ma!!

Well, I can’t say I’m looking forward to the rest of the week.  Micah is going on a trip for 3 1/2 days.  I think I might have to start a bad habit of having Kahle sleep with me.  :)   Even though there are only a few hours left in the day after I pick up the boys from daycare….we will still miss him. I guess it will just feel like he’s at a football game.  Side note: Micah is done with JV football, so it’s only varsity left!!  The varsity has had a wonderful season, so we’re excited to see how far they’ll go!  Go Nighthawks!  (Sometimes I still can’t believe I’m saying that).  I grew up with the CL-GLR team, teach for WL, and live in RV (which means we cover BH and RV).  We almost have the Siouxland Conference covered!

We are going to have a houseful this weekend.  I’m hosting the coaches’ FB party Friday night…and we’re celebrating Bodee’s 1st birthday with our families this weekend.  Does anyone want to clean my house and make a bunch of food?

The date is set…Oct. 28!  Bodee will get tubes early that morning.  I think that’s a pretty good birthday present.  He can celebrate the night before with lots of cake.  Although, we’ll have to cut him off–as he has to fast for 12 hours.  We are very excited and ready to get them.  He’s been such a trooper through his painful days/nights.

The boys started new daycare yesterday.  They were both happy and playing away when I picked them up at 4:15.  The ladies were shocked at how much Bodee ate.  He even downed the broccoli and cauliflower…yuck!  Again, this kid will eat ANYTHING.  Kahle often gives Bodee his food, too.  Kahle learned how to stop, drop, and roll if there is a fire.  He painted pretty pictures, too.  I’m sure our fridge will be full in no time!

Our littlest man (well, in months…maybe not size) has another ear infection.  He actually has a double ear infection again.  We knew something was up.  He’s not a great sleeper to begin with, but a half hour a day isn’t good for an 11 month old.  I took him in last-minute on Saturday morning.  We were planning on getting his 1 year pictures done in Sioux Falls, but we decided it’s miserable enough getting a kid to take good pictures….we better not try it when he’s in horrible pain.  The doctor said he’d call and get the tube appt. scheduled!!  That’s music to our ears…and Bodee’s, too, once he can hear better.  Kahle’s two sets have helped him out dramatically.

Kahle was G’pa Weber’s shadow this weekend.  He came over to RV being that Bonita was going on a short trip this weekend.  We are excited to decorate the pumpkins G’pa brought us!  The boys start their new daycare center on Tuesday.  They’ll just go there Tues./Thurs.  MWF is with an in-home lady.  Other than that, we’ve been busy with football, school, and RCYF.   We are hoping to miss the flu bug that has been hitting some cute relatives of ours.  Garett, Wyatt, Ellie, and Noah have all been hit a little bit.  I guess George and Manhattan are the safe spots!  That’s all for now.  The papers are not correcting themselves, so I better get to them.  Have a great week.

Rock Valley had a trick or treating weekend at the campgrounds.  Bodee transformed into a handsome cow, and Kahle was his owner…a farmer.  Kahle’s new cowboy boots, John Deere cap, snap/blue plaid shirt, and overalls helped make a cute farmer.  Even though it was cold, the boys did a great job of collecting candy from the campers.  It was fun to get out and see other creative (and scary) costumes.  We also had a fun Saturday by having some friends over for supper.  They got to see the freshly painted kitchen.  I think it’s done now!  We are so thankful for a great weekend…even though the boys caught colds.  Our last few nights have been long!  Have a great week, everyone.
