Bodee hanging out at the fair.

Kahle showing his pig.

Kahle and Josiah at the Pool!
We are back from the North IA Fair in Mason City. Micah and his dad have a small pig operation, so the grandkids get a chance to show a pig every year. Kahle did okay. Micah helped him….and did most of the work this time. Overall, the Weber pigs did AWESOME. Amelia’s pig was the grand champion pig at the open show Wednesday night. There are other awards, etc. that a “cow” gal like myself doesn’t understand. Needless to say….the pigs did well. We had a fun week hanging out with the Weber side. We even got in a trip to the aquatic center! I felt like a kid again.

Kahle showing his first pig at the fair
Two down…two to go. The Sioux and Lyon County Fairs were this past week. Kahle LOVED the animals and tractors. He also showed his FIRST pig! He must be lucky….or darn cute….becuase he got 3rd in his class. He showed Mike DeRuyter’s pig…..which orginally came from the Weber farm.
Bodee had his 9 month check-up a little early. He still has his ear infection. It’s been a month now. The doc said to wait with the tubes for now. The Bodster is weighing in at 22 lbs. 10 oz. (naked) and is 29 inches. He is loving the freedom to pull himself up and crawl all over the place. He continues to eat anything we give him (and don’t give him).

Being that Micah was going to be in Washington D.C. for a week with some FFA students, the boys and I went down to KC to stay with Rachel, Rick, and Noah. We went to Deanna Rose Farmstead on Tuesday.

We also splashed in the pool, went shopping, sweated on some walks and terrorized the Nielsen household. I think we only owe Rachel a new table, a hanger, a dishwasher, baby wipes, pantry full of food and a lot of lost sleep!! Noah taught Bodee how to pull himself up to stand, and Kahle taught Noah how to get down off a step after he tried to unsuccessfully walk in air.
The week went really fast, and Micah flies back Sunday morning.
